There is quite a lot of Boy Scout troops out there. Why is Troop 268 any different. The New scouts that joined recently may tell you, we are much more fun, we get our work done and then enjoy games or free time, and when I say we, I mean the scouts, not the adults. Thats right, Troop 268 is a fully boy-led troop. And boy-led applies to any boy willing to lead, With our small troop size, Leadership positions are open for many of the scouts and everyone will get a chance to flex their leadership muscles. We go on campouts every month, each completely different, ranging from exploring deep, dark, caves, to blasting clay pigeons out of the sky with a shotgun. Troop 268 will let scouts learn all types of skills, from the ones essential to scouting like Fire starting, first aid, Pitching a tent, using knifes and axes, ect, to things like skiing (snow and water,) Rock climbing, shooting, canoeing, and so much more. and to the crown of campouts is summer camp, Every year, Troop 268 goes on a week long summer campout where stay at seven ranges. There scouts can earn merit badges, work on rank advancement, practice archery, rifle and shotguns shooting, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, tomahawk throwing, basketry, wilderness survival skills, and that's just naming a few. Summer camp is the epitome of camping, Scouts will learn to apply all the points of the scout law to their everyday life, they will build their work ethic, but also have fun.
Troop 268 is no normal boy scout troop, there is so much to do, and so much to gain.
